Wallace “Red” Stewart, 81, of Dayton, Kentucky, formerly of Newport,
died Sunday, Oct. 19, at St. Elizabeth, Fort Thomas. He was a crane
operator at D. Kirschner and Son a.k.a. D.J. Joseph’s for 45 years
before retiring. He enjoyed chewing tobacco and shooting the breeze. He
loved wearing baseball caps, fixing things around the house and going
out to eat.
His wife Betty Stewart and son Larry Stewart, died previously.
He is survived by his son, Ricky Stewart Sr., of Dayton, and daughter
Terri Baker of Newport. He is also survived by his grandsons, Ricky
Stewart Jr., William Stewart, Michael Stewart and Timmy Baker;
granddaughters Melissa Stewart, Tabitha Baker and Taylor Baker and
great-grandchildren Katelyn Stewart, Hannah Stewart, Ashley Stewart and,
on the way, Lakin Stewart.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22; service at 10 a.m.
Thursday, Oct. 23, both at Radel Funeral Home, 822 York St., Newport,
Kentucky. Burial will be at the Alexandria Cemetery.
