Thomas Joy Dix May 9, 1935 - August 17, 2022

Thomas Joy Dix, 87, passed away on August 17, 2022, at Hospice of Cincinnati. He was born on May 9, 1935, in Delaware, Ohio to the late George and Ruth Dix. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from The Ohio State University and was an avid Buckeye. Among his numerous professional and civic accomplishments, he initiated the Ohio River Scenic Route, which was awarded a National Scenic Byway designation and resulted in an economic impact of over $2 billion annually on affected counties. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Dix, and two sons, Dennis Dix (Dana Burton) and Douglas Dix (Diane). A celebration of Tom’s life will be scheduled at a future date. In memory of Tom, donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous.
