Ruth Ann Smith November 14, 1937 - January 31, 2023

Ruth Ann Smith, age 85, passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on January 31, 2023, in Alexandria, Kentucky. She was born on November 14, 1937, in Newton, New Jersey to the late Howell and Grace Boice. Ruth attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a degree in home economics. She married the late Gordon Smith in December of 1959. Ruth is survived by her three sons, Todd (Elizabeth), Stuart (Amy) and Mitchell (Rachel), five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ruth loved public service and held several political positions including the Town of Macedon Planning Board and the City of Cold Spring Planning & Zoning Board. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in her name to Parkinson’s research.
