Robert “Bob” Young, 89, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on January 20, 2024, from natural causes. Bob lived an active life. He grew up on the west side of Cincinnati and graduated from Western Hills High School. Immediately after graduation from high school in 1952 he joined the Airforce. Bob always wanted to travel and his time in the service allowed him to explore Europe while he was stationed in Austria. Austria provided him with the additional opportunity to learn how to ski. This became a passion of his and he continued to ski for many years. Bob also was an accomplished marksman, outdoorsman, and fisherman. Bob had a pilot’s license and flew for recreation to feed his love of travel. Bob was a huge supporter of his wife Barbara’s art career. Bob and Barbara would travel to different galleries around the country to promote her artwork and to experience new cities. Bob was ever the eternal optimist about life. He always saw the positive in situations and did not dwell on things that were negative.
Bob Young was born on May 27, 1934. He graduated from Western Hills High School in 1952. Bob held many jobs early in life but found his passion when he began working as a stockbroker for Hill & Co. in Cincinnati. Bob was made a partner in 1971 and served in that capacity until he retired in 1996.
He was preceded in death by William Young, his father, Doris H. Young (Weghorst), his mother, Charles G. Young, his brother and Carole A. Young, his sister.
