Michael Raymond Jackson, aged 64, passed away in his home amongst loved one’s days before Thanksgiving.
Michael was born & raised in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. The middle of five children, Michael is the son of Patricia (L’Huillier) Jackson and Charles Jackson, Sr., and is survived by his siblings, Debbie Kubicki, Sandi Morgan, Paul G. Jackson, and his half-brother, Cory Andrews. His closest companion left behind is Billy. Billy may be referred to as a dog by many, but for Michael, Billy was his most important person in life, second only to Joey, his first and former canine companion.
Never married or having fathered children, he adored his nieces and nephews. Nearly all the color photos display the children from his brothers and sisters. The framed photos containing Billy or Joey amongst the family were easily a one-for-one count.
Michael was an emotional and passionate character. He was easily moved by the human condition. He was fast to laugh and quicker to cry. During a visit to the ophthalmologist, the question of whether Michael cried a lot was a concern, especially when Mike as the doctor to be more specific about how much “a lot” meant to him. The outcome, Michael was asked to dial back his viewing time when The Biggest Loser aired. Michael often met the definition of crying “a lot” when that show aired and it was causing damage to his eyes.
Anyone who knew Michael can remember his contagious laugh and love for the wide range of humor he possessed. His self-deprecating nature and loving insults created unforgettable moments of banter with those who shared his company and time. For many of his neighbors, these memories were made while bumping into him while he walked Joey or Billy. To others who loved him, these moments occurred on his porch or over the phone.
Few people speak to the way death brings people closer together. We lost Michael unexpectedly and well before his time; but, our collective loss over him has brought others closer and deeper into our lives. We miss you more, Michael.
