Our mother, Mary, was known for her love of the Holy Spirit; you might even say she had Him on “speed dial”, often calling upon Him. Mom loved the simple things in life, like waking to the smell of fresh brewing coffee, seeing a dim lamp through a frosted window, or a warm home on a cold rainy or snowy day. Family and home were everything to Mom. She would always say, “Remember to thank God for the Small Things in Life”. She loved Highland Heights Ky where she was raised and where her father, Edward Worthington, was the first Chief of Police and the First Fire Chief for that city. She also had a love for writing Poetry and would often text the grandchildren in what they called “Riddles”. It was just Mom’s poetic way of speaking. Her latest hobby was hand making Bookmarks. Some of those were beautiful and some funny. She gave them to family and friends, residents in her building in celebration of their birthday and to new residents as a welcome gift! Mom had a deep love for our State of Kentucky and proudly called herself a “Kentucky Girl!” These are just a few of Mom’s loves, but what she loved the most was her 7 children, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her constant adorable little loyal companion, her dog Lainie. We were her truest passion, and what made her life worth living. It was to our Mom’s misfortune that she endured the greatest grief possible…the loss of a child, her eldest, Andy (b. Floyd Andrew Webster III). Reflecting on this grief, she stated: “The longer I live brokenhearted, the more I see the intention for it. It’s to make one more worthy of being on the way back to where we belong. What are we but longed for, returning creations of the Father and sharing in the Kingdom of Heaven? Tough love. Totally Unbelievable.”
Mom was also an entrepreneur, having owned her own business and she was also a Proud Kentucky Colonel!
