TURNER
Lonnie Ernest Turner, born to Edith and Elmer Turner in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 29, 1947, passed away August 30, 2013 at age 66. Known as “Captain”, he was a longtime softball umpire, enjoyed the outdoors in Hazard and Paris, Kentucky with cousins Michael and Sally Turner, and loved his friends Bill and Bobby Davidson. He was a wonderful family man, loving each of them so much he wouldn’t even hang up the phone without saying “I love you”.
He had many famous quotes: “Change is the law of Life and those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” , “Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all he has done. –Philippians 4:6” and after one of his jokes, “I got a million of ’em.”
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol E. Turner; Daughters, Tonya Turner Bauerle (husband John) and Sharon Mullins Piccirillo (husband George Matthew); Daughters-in-law, Samantha Turner and Michelle Barnett Herald; Grandchildren, Ashley Stogner, Nicholas Herald, Taylor Piccirillo, Dustin Bauerle, Cody Bauerle, Kristi Bauerle, Vanessa Carol Turner and Nicholas Turner; Great-grandchildren, Mark Daniel Bauerle, Taya Montana Bauerle, Landon Herald, Brady Stogner and Corbin Stogner; Sisters, Lula Sue Turner-French, Nawana Turner-Weber, Janice Ruth Turner and Deborah Sue “Lil Deb” Turner; Brothers, Darryl Turner, David Turner, Gary Turner and Robert Turner; Brother-in-law Rick Weber; Sisters-in-law, Debbie Turner, Cathy Turner, Nikki Turner, Debbie Boughton, Carol “Fire” and Pam Turner; also many more treasured nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Edith and Elmer Turner; sons, Richard “Red Dog” Turner and Thomas Mullins; Sister, Delores Turner; Brothers, Donnie “Joe Donut” Turner, Larry “Sneaky Pete” Turner, James Turner and Dennis Turner; Brother- in- law, Nick French, Sisters-in-law, Dorothy Shaw Turner and Sherry Turner.
Visitation will be held at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport Kentucky, Wednesday September 4, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with services starting at 7:00 pm.
