Kent Eugene Lefebvre February 19, 1947 - March 20, 2022

Kent Eugene Lefebvre, 75 years, passed away on March 20, 2022, at home in Cincinnati surrounded by his family. His wife Lynne, his daughter Vanessa, his son Ross, his grandson Eli, and son-in-law Boris were at his side. Kent’s life taught his family about generosity, kindness, and quiet strength. As his nephew, Jason, said, “Kent was a rare individual. Reckless but thoughtful, driven but caring, and rugged but compassionate.” He survived the loss of his parents, Jean and Ernest Lefebvre, at a young age and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Lena and Carl Brunner in Onaga, Kansas. Born on February 19, 1947, in Onaga, Kansas, he grew up the middle of two brothers, Randy and Ernie (Craig), playing with and tormenting each other like brothers do. He went on to proudly serve as a captain in the U.S. Army and subsequently graduated from Washburn University in 1974. He earned the nickname ‘Crash’ honestly coming away from multiple car, motorcycle, skydiving, skiing, and general walking debacles mostly unscathed. His wife, Lynne, patiently and not-so-patiently, accompanied him on his journey from student to international sales executive, from a young risk-taker (you probably have your stories!) to a mature steward of his family and community (volunteering as his local Boy Scout troop’s treasurer and working the polls every election). He demonstrated how to live a life thoughtfully guided by ethics. His passions were many: poetry, golf, college football, and above all tenaciously arguing politics with friends and family. In his later years, Huntington’s Disease gradually encroached on his independence. His wife and son-in-law, Boris, cared for him lovingly as he bravely fought each day. While he lost his ability to speak (and argue), he was still able to reassure his family with his famous smile. We will miss his wit, warmth, and steady presence.

Kent is survived by his American family, including his brother Ernie, sister-in-law Judi, nephew Jordan, cousins Bob and Kathy, and his English family: Ann, James, Gary and Clare, Jason and Amy.

Kent was a dear friend growing up in Onaga. He was a year ahead of me in school but during grade school he was like a brother to me. He always looked forward to summer and the arrival of “uncle Ralph”. I have not seen him for many years but will never forget the fun we had together. He was a great football player and always referred to as “ Frenchie“ by coach Rosenfield. His number was “41”. His younger brother Craig was in my brother Tim’s class. Randy was a grade ahead of my sister Julie. We were part of the “high street gang”. Rest well…Kent. See you later.

Bob williamson 10-21-22 I have not seen Kent in many years. We were very good friends and worked togethe and as usual our careers separated us we lost track of each other. Kent was one of the most honest and trustworthy friend a person could have .He was fun to be with and my wife and I always thought that we would someday once again see Kent and Lynne. We were very saddened to hear hear of his passing and hope to see Lynne some day as we have now moved into their old neighaborhood in chesterfield.
