Karen Wimmer Cassidy, age 64 passed peacefully away on July 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 20, 1959, in Hamilton Ohio to the late Jack (John) and Irma Wimmer. Karen attended Ross high school and graduated in 1977. She married Mark Cassidy on June 28, 1980, in Hamilton Ohio, they eventually divorced in 2003. Karen worked as a Health aid at West Clermont schools, specifically Willowville elementary for 30 years before retiring in 2020. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, camping, hosting family functions at her home and spending time with her grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her three children: Jennifer Priest Artz (Keith Artz), Shayna (Cassidy) Davis (Matthew Davis), Jesse Cassidy (Amanda Cassidy)
8 grandchildren: Shawn Artz, Timothy Artz, Bailey Davis, Macie Davis, Myla Davis, Katie Cassidy, Wittany Cassidy, Keith Milliken
Karen is also survived by her three adoring siblings: twin sister, Sharon (Wimmer) Dykes (Bob Dykes), John Wimmer (Wendy Wimmer), Heidi Prater (Jeff Prater)
Seven nieces and nephews: Bobbie Jo Dykes, Chris Dykes, Elizabeth Ohe (Matt Ohe) Dalton Prater, Tori Prater, Tyler Prater, Kelton Wimmer
Two great nieces: Makayla Rice, Joelle Knox
One great-great niece: Aria Blair
She was loved beyond measure and will live on in the hearts of her beautiful family. If you never had the opportunity to know this most beautiful of souls, I’m sorry for your loss.
A celebration of life will be held in Karen’s memory on August 6, 2023, from 3 PM to 8 PM at Karen’s residence of 4479 Dogwood Dr., Batavia, OH 45103 with an additional celebration of life to be held at a later date TBD. Details of the second celebration of life will be made available on August 6th.
