June 5, 2017 at 12:52 amSome unusual impulse led me to “google” Joe tonight. I have a lot of sweet memories of this man. And I will contact my kids – who will be sad. They too have good memories. I am grateful he has had Barbara S. all these years.

February 6, 2022 at 5:23 amJoe saved my bacon, so to speak, in the late seventies. Long story, but I came to love that sweet and peaceful man. He once gave me a tool, a horsehair brush, which hangs today in my workshop, never to be thrown away. And I was shocked to read that Kelly passed before he did.

April 1, 2022 at 3:10 amI worked for Joe at the UC Computing Center in the 70’s. He treated me better than any boss I had had before or since then. He was laid back in an uptight world, and I still remember, 45 years later, some of the wise things he said to me. I send my sympathy to Barbara, and I only wish I had said this earlier, directly to him.
