Carol Jean Schlueter Newlin
Jean Newlin, 76, passed away November 30, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joseph Moore Newlin. They were married on September 6, 1958. Born and raised in Columbia, MO, she and her husband moved to Las Vegas in 1963. She was a Registered Nurse who worked in the nursery at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital, then at a pediatrician’s office, and then for the Clark County Health Department. She was very active in the dog showing community in Las Vegas during the 1980’s. Following the passing of her husband, she moved to Florence, KY in 2008 to be near her grandchildren. She is survived by her four children; Bill, Jeff, John and Beth, her daughters-in-law, Cathi and Trina, her son-in-law Jeff, and her grandchildren, Ethan, Connor and Noah. She also had five step grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
Jean’s ashes will be interred next to her husband’s at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas, NV. No services are planned. A tribute to Jean may be seen at http://JeanNewlin.box49.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
