James (Jim) Fordyce, 72, Beloved husband of Jennifer nee Cummins. Devoted father of Sadie Meiners (Robby) and Molly Fordyce. Loving Pap-Pap to Noah and Wesley Meiners. Son of Edna and the late James Fordyce. Brother of Mike Fordyce (Terri), Lori Boys (Brent), & Danny Fordyce. Survived by nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives. Passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Jim was born on November 4, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio. Jim attended Mariemont High School and graduated in 1967. Jim married Jennifer on January 1, 1983 in Cleveland, Ohio. Jim worked at Mariemont Fire Department for twenty-six years, with the last five years as Fire Chief, before retiring in 2000. Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served honorably in the Marines and left the military with the rank of Lance Corporal. A gathering will be held on February 27, 2021 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, 5950 Kellogg Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45230, with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Honor Flight Tri-State. Jim was approved and looking forward to taking his honor flight, but due to COVID-19 it had been put on hold.
