It’s a PRATS PARTY! Come share in a toast to honor the awesome and remarkable life of Harry J. Prats. Surrounded by family and friends, Harry passed away the evening of August 28, 2015 under the solace of a full moon. Joining us in celebration is his wife, Ellen Prats nee Murray; son, Ian Ramone Prats; mother, Rosa Garcia Prats; brother, Joe (Jovita) Prats; sister, Sylvia Prats; sister-in-law, Laura (Jeff) Chrystal; and his nieces, nephews and many close friends, including his beloved dog, Karma. Attending in spirit will be his late father, José Prats and dear friend, late Ken Murray. Harry was born July 31, 1949 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1967. During his career as a college student, Harry was proud to be Co-President of the Civil Liberties Union. He enjoyed his long career as a professor at University of Cincinnati. Harry was a board member of TASS for 26 years and was Chair of the College Literacy and Learning Special Interest Group of the International Literacy Association for many years. In 2014, he was inducted into the U.C. Academy of Fellows for Teaching and Learning. Harry was known for being someone you could always count on. Everywhere Harry went, he would run always run into students who “professed” their appreciation and love of his teaching. Harry’s Party will be held Friday, September 11th from 6:30 to 9:30 PM at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, 5950 Kellogg Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45230. Casual clothing required- all those in formal attire will be “rejected at the door”! The party train will continue down the street at the slots at Belterra Casino.
