Georgene “Jean” Grainger, age 84, of Peach Grove, Kentucky, passed away in her home on August 21, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1939, to Ira and Melissa Sparks in Johnson County, Kentucky. Jean was a homemaker who loved sewing, cooking, and gardening. She loved her flowers and spending time with her family and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Jean Elkins, six brothers Dewey, James, Earl, Carl, Ralph, Leslie Sparks, two sisters Dorothy Jones and Ollie Sparks. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, George Grainger; brother Bill Sparks; three sisters Hazel Rice, Gladys Rice, Ruth Shelton; four children Donnie Elkins (Carolyn) of Peach Grove, Kentucky, James Boggs of Demossville, Kentucky, Michelle Shockley (Steve) of Middletown, Ohio, Earl Boggs (Jane) of Campbell County, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren Leeshell, Kasey, Stephie, Shelby, Cori, Joshua, Tyler, Devon, Benton, Elizabeth, Brian, Chance, James Earl; 27 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 5pm until 8pm at the Fares J. Radel Funeral Home-Kellogg. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, also at the funeral home, at 1pm, with one additional hour of visitation prior from 12pm until time of service. Entombment at St. Stephen Cemetery.
