On most days of my life from 1953 to 1961, either I walked down two houses on Ferdinand Place and called “Oh, Donny!,” or Donny walked up two houses and called me. At one point, we decided to become “blood brothers,” pricking our fingers and blotting blood drops on something (a coin?) that we then buried behind the garage in my back yard. Hard to think of any memories from that time that aren’t good!

My condolences on Don’s passing go out to the whole Quallen clan.
