David Brian Goebel born on November 16, 1964; passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2018. He was the beloved son of Dennis Goebel (Nancy) and the late Nancy Burrows (Bill); father of Derek Caldwell; loving brother to Kimberly McElwee (Scott) and John Goebel (Erin). Uncle to Bryan McElwee (Kristen), Jason McElwee (Samantha), Luke and Sophia; great uncle to Cooper, Natalie, Jonas, Connor, and Tyler; dear friend of Tina Lang. Extended family to Emily Hoyt, Amy Gellen (Scott), Matt Hoyt (Beth), Molly Weissman (Matt), Dan Hoyt (Laura). Loving nephew to Robert and John Goebel, The Parkers, Patricia Scheper (Richard), Judy Henderson (the late Larry), the late Sandy Stringer (Mike), Pam Rhodenbough (Bob), and Don Parker; grandson to the late Robert (Ruth) Goebel and Raymond (Jeanne) Parker.
Dave attended Anderson High School and played basketball and baseball while in high school. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Florida and worked on a fishing boat. Upon his return, he spent the remainder of his life in Cincinnati; where he worked for Hyde Park Lumber, California Closets, and Angelo’s.
Dave was a talented softball player, nicknamed “The Ghost”, basketball player and dart thrower. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. Dave was a man who would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Dave was athletic, competitive and very loyal. He was a true friend and was genuine in all aspects of his life. He will be missed by many.
Family and friends will be received at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home and Crematory, 5950 Kellogg Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45230; on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 5:30 PM, with a Memorial Service starting at 8 PM.
Memorials in Dave’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

October 24, 2018 at 4:31 amSo sorry, I have a very mentally challenged brother that we have lunch with at Angiloes on Saturdays and Dave was just so nice to him. For the too short of time we knew him my brother and our family loved him for his kindness and we will miss him dearly. Sorry we can’t make service but our prayers are with him and his loved ones.
