David Amburn, 73, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at his home in Amelia, Ohio. He was born March 10, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert W. and Leona (Siebers) Amburn. David was a 1963 graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Quincy, where he was on the football team. He also attended Quincy College. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan (Wilper) Amburn, in 1965; she survives. David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and then had a long career in the packaging industry, working his way up to the position of general manager. He never met a stranger. He liked telling old stories and always had a joke to share. He loved his family and friends the most, but he also loved any adventure that involved the great outdoors, especially hunting trips to West Virginia. David will be deeply missed by his brother and fishing buddy, Robert L. Amburn; daughters, Janet (Chris) Schlaak of Amelia, Ohio, and Carol (David) Dzambik of Amherst, Ohio; and grandchildren, John and Katie Schlaak and Andrew Dzambik.
