Charles “Skip” Metzel, lifetime partner of Peggy Smith, passed away on January 27, 2022, age 72. He was born to the late Charles and Mary Metzel of Anderson, where he attended McNicholas High School and Miami University. Skip enjoyed his time playing on his acreage in Batavia, even though he was prone to accidents, and he and Peggy shared many trips to the emergency room. But that never discouraged his love of the outdoors. Skip always enjoyed fishing and boating with his cousins and friends. He also enjoyed target shooting, woodworking, and he loved all his fur babies. Skip retired from 3M, where he set up machines for companies nationally and internationally. We are grateful for his friends at United Dairy Farmers as they always made his daily ice cream trips very special. A private celebration of Skip’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or an animal shelter of your choice.
