Annette (Padgett) Saylor, aka Annette Heinz, of Newport, Kentucky, died of cancer on Thursday, August 24th at a nursing facility in Cold Spring after taking ill very suddenly less than two months earlier. She was 71.
As Annette Heinz, she spent two decades working as a professional dancer and character actress, beginning in 1970 and lasting until she returned to Newport in the 1990s. She returned to school, graduating Cincinnati State College with honors in 1995 with a culinary arts degree. This eventually got her a position as chef on one of the casino boats in Indiana for a number of years.
Although Annette leaves behind no family other than chosen family member Jeanne Silver, of Arizona, she was beloved by her thousands of friends and fans for her kindness, her bawdy humor, her good old Kentucky common sense, and her wonderful cooking tips. She will be greatly missed.
