Ambrose Stanley Zmurk, Jr. was born on June 27, 1937. He peacefully passed away on February 8, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was known as Stan to everyone. Stan is preceded in death by his lovely wife of 59 years, Bernice Louise Zmurk and his parents, Ambrose and Effie Zmurk. Stan is survived by his four living children, Randolph Zmurk, Sandra (Scott) Kopczynski, Rebecca (Ron) Zmurk and Jennifer (Ron) Zmurk-Diaz. Stan was also a wonderful grandfather to his five grandsons, Derek, Adam, Timothy, Landen, and Westin. Stan also grew up with three siblings, Karen Barrick, Dan (Connie) Zmurk and Connie (Dan) Fryer.
Stan was a very devoted father who always valued his family first. He was a friend to everyone who knew him. Stan was a true giver and extremely generous with not only monetary items but his wisdom, time, and positive energy.
Stan loved being outside! He was an avid fisherman who loved to hike, camp and golf. Many family vacations were spent exploring the great outdoors. Stan also found great enjoyment in cooking and feeding the family. He was a great cook and loved to make traditional polish dishes such as pierogis!
Stan worked in the grocery business for 48 years. He was a hard-working, loyal employee, and very knowledgeable in his career.
Previously, Stan was member of Corpus Christi Church. He attended Newport Catholic High School, which he was active with the band. He attended Villa Madonna College and was in the Navy Reserves for 8 years.
Stan lived an extraordinary, joyous life. He was an amazing, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His intelligence, sense of humor, and expert advice will be missed. Visitation and service to honor the 84 years of life will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 11am until 12pm, with a service at 12pm, at the Cross and Crown City Church, 510 Park Ave. Newport, KY 41071, with interment to follow at Alexandria Cemetery.
