Gerard “Jerry” Patrick Breslin, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio, with family at his bedside. Born in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, on March 22, 1935, to the late Leo H. and Anne Ellen Breslin, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 36 years, Patricia Anne Breslin (nee White), brothers, Col. Leo H. Breslin, Jr. USAF (Ret.) (Jeanette), and Rev. Msgr. John E. Breslin, and sister, Anne Ellen Breslin.
Jerry graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1952, and St. Joseph’s College in 1960. From 1952 to 1956, he honorably served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force, with duty stations in Japan and Washington, DC.
He started his business career in the Insurance industry as a Claims Adjuster at INA, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then transitioned into Risk Management where he developed patient and operational safety protocols, traveling and speaking for American Medicorp in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then Humana Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky, where he eventually retired as a Vice President in 1995.
Jerry and Patricia were devout Roman Catholics who would rarely, if ever, miss Sunday mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Burlington, Kentucky. After Patricia passed, Jerry would watch daily mass via the internet and pray the rosary every night.
A voracious reader, Jerry had a sophisticated sense of humor and a predilection for bourbon, loved following politics and debating the news of the day, and was also known to be a great storyteller.
Jerry is survived by his children, Michael (Lori), Patrick, Sean, Kelly, and Timothy (Mary), stepdaughter, Juli Jepson (Mark), selfless caretakers in later years, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
Catholic mass will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2025, at 10am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 7820 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45255. Interment will be that afternoon in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln., Williamstown, KY 41097. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the VA or USO.
