Rick Allen Glaser, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 7th. He was born on March 22, 1957, in Covington KY, the only child to the late Leonard and Mary Ann Glaser (nee Studer). Rick attended Highlands High School and the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. A gifted mechanic, engineer, craftsman, humorist, boat captain, dog/cat whisperer (self-described), golf instructor to his wife, fire starter, not to mention dad and husband. He worked as Facilities Director at Thriftway then Remke Markets until retirement in 2019. He then worked part-time for SWH Supply Co just to stay “in the know” and connected to colleagues and friends. In his spare time, he worked endlessly remodeling his and Jackie’s home in Eastgate. Rick enjoyed golf, tinkering with his 1976 Ford Bronco and spending time with his countless friends. Rick is survived by his wife and soulmate, Jackie; his pride and joy, his children Michael (32) and Abby (22). He is also survived by beloved pets; dog, Griffin (7) and cat, Em (5).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15th, from 9am to 12:30pm at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home at 5950 Kellogg Ave., followed by mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2501 Riverside Dr. A celebration will follow mass at Big Ash Brewing, 5230 Beechmont Ave., from 2:30pm until 5:30pm.

April 12, 2023 at 3:09 amJackie, Michael and Abby, Words can not express my sorrow at the loss of a great man. Rick and I became friends when Thriftway and Winn-Dixie merged. He was a dedicated individual who took pride in his work. I was lucky enough to meet the most important people to him when y’all stopped at my home on the way down to Myrtle Beach. I am so so sorry that this has happened. I pray for you all to find peace and comfort. Much love ❤️ Tammy

April 15, 2023 at 1:40 amI knew Rick as many did, from Thriftway. We also played in the same golf league for 30 plus years. What a super person. Always wanting to make people laugh and also help out any way he could. He reached out to me when I had a health scare and I will never forget it. Prayers to his entire family

April 15, 2023 at 1:32 pmRick was a neighbor, friend, mentor adopted father/big brother to my wife and I through the years. We formed a bond in friendship that will forever change our lives because of Rick. We had the honor of being all those things and more with Rick in our lives. There are not enough words to describe what Rick meant to us, and the memories we will cherish forever that we made together. Our friendship gate will always be there with each of us on the other side to open it up for one another as friends and neighbors in this life or the next. Glaser family we are truly sorry for your loss. Rick will never be forgotten and always in our hearts.
Love,
The Dedden Family

April 16, 2023 at 10:41 pmI didn’t know him personally, But I did know Rick. Rick is the type of guy that goes out of his way to make sure people have what they need. It’s really sad to know that his life was taken so innocently. My cousin Janaya life was also taken from me and he was there to help her. Like I said, I don’t know Rick personally but I know Rick because he’s a type of person that God made to help others . Rest peacefully my friend.

April 17, 2023 at 12:18 amLosing Rick has been one of the most devastating losses in my life, and I can only imagine what a gaping hole this has left for Jackie, Michael and Abby. His personality and heart were unmatched. There arent many people I know to go to when I have a mechanical or construction question, but Rick was always my go to. He was very knowledgeable and we really understood each other. He was just a joy to be around always. In fact, Rick was supposed to be coming to my place to help with some vehicles the day before his funeral. The fridge was filled with Diet Coke… his favorite beverage. I will toast you as I drink each one, Rick. Love to Rick, Jackie, Michael and Abby. Lean on us, your friends and family.

May 5, 2023 at 5:55 pmRick was one of my favorite customer`s at Controls and Sheet Metal. I first met Rick when he worked at Thriftway as a mechanic back in the 80`s. He was a great person. I didn`t hear that he was involved in the crash on 275, until after the funeral. I`m sorry I wasn`t there for Rick.
I`ll always remember him .
