Luther Franklin Hall, Jr. October 20, 1932 - August 16, 2020

The Man, The Myth, The Legend.

Luther Franklin Hall, Jr. 87, beloved father, passed away peacefully at home with his oldest son Luke by his side, August 16, 2020.  Luther was born in Kansas, on October 20, 1932, to Luther Hall, Sr. and Emma Kalomeres. He was the oldest of three siblings Emma Mae Smyth, Ray Hall, and Danny Hall.

Luther was larger than life, a family man and a man of God. He loved to travel. However, his passion was hunting and fishing, and he excelled at both. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge of the sport with others.

He was known for his incredible work ethic, something he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He had a long career in Construction Management with Monarch Construction, Flannery and Esz, Inc., and P.R. Duke Construction, where most of his colleagues knew him as “Luke from Duke.”  He built many of the high-rise buildings in downtown Cincinnati, most notably, the Scripps Howard Building, known in our family as the Darth Vader building.

Luther is survived by his children, Cindy Lou, Luther Steven his wife Christy; George Daniel, Dennis Leroy his wife Rebecca; and Jeffrey Grant; Grandchildren, Megan Richey her husband Aaron; Ashley Marinelli her husband PJ; Andrew Hall his wife Erin, and Samantha Denton; Great Grandchildren, Canaan Richey, Paul Marinelli, Sawyer Denton, Aiden Marinelli, Eleanora and Iris Hall.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Hall, Sr.,and Emma Kalomeres brother Danny Hall and sister Emma Mae Smyth.

A private memorial will be held October 16th, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, P.O. Box 5202, Cincinnati, Ohio 45201 or Heartland Hospice Services of Cincinnati, 3960 Red Bank Road, Suite 140, Cincinnati, Oh 45227.
