Frederick J. Johnson, 48 of Ft. Mitchell passed away unexpectedly, July 3, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife Heather E. Johnson (nee Keil), son Alex Johnson and daughter Haley Johnson. He also leaves behind his father James “Doug” Johnson, brothers Marty Wilson and Curt Johnson, sisters Shellie (Bill) Uchtman and Lena (Jonathon) Andrews, many nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Judy (Larry) Dunlap, father-in-law Donnie (Sandra) Keil and sister-in-law Cassandra (Drew) Hutchison. He had his own private practice, Frederick J. Johnson Attorney-at-Law in Newport, Kentucky and was a member of the Kentucky and Ohio Bar Associations. He graduated from Newport High School, Franklin University and Chase Law School and was a proud member of his fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Fred loved to cook, watch his favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints, play fantasy football and spend time with his family. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to BB&T where a fund has been established for their children. Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport serving the family.

He was a warm and kind person, who did everything in his power to help his clients and who was very sincere and persuasive for his clients. Judges and attorneys always seemed to taken a liking to him. His bright eyes and great smile could brighten up a person’s day. I love Fred, a good man, and my old courthouse buddy. I won’t forget him.

July 7, 2020 at 7:55 pmI met Fred when he was in law school at Chase. As part of his professional preparation, he clerked at our law firm. I got to know him very well and liked him a lot. Fred was a very good lawyer and an even better person. I am very saddened that he died at such a young age. A very bright light has been extinguished much to early.

July 9, 2020 at 6:48 pmI went to law school with Fred so many years ago and we quickly became friends. I really enjoyed talking with him about the law. I have never met another person since that would make me think about the law like Fred did and I probably never will. He was more than just a bright lawyer though. Fred was so full of life. He always had the funniest stories. He was funny, smart and always thinking of others. We truly lost a great man. It is hard to accept he is gone. I’m so sorry for his family. Rest in peace, my brother. I love you.
