Jeri Ann Zornes, age 82, passed away on May 17, 2020 after a long struggle with dementia. She was born on August 10, 1937 in Covington, Kentucky to Glenn and Iona Davis (Dutro). She married and began a longtime friendship and love with Eugene Willard Zornes in August of 1954 who preceded her in death in 2002.
Jeri loved adventure, which she and Gene had many. The great outdoors was their passion and everything that came with it, from four-wheeling in the outback of Canada to fishing the oceans of the gulf. I am sure mother nature will miss her because no one described a flower, tree, lake, river, mountain, ocean, or fish like Jeri. It was as if you could see what she saw and felt at that moment in time.
Preceded in death by her much-loved son and daughter, Daniel Glenn Zornes (October 2006), Dayna Marie Redman (July 2008); survived by loving daughter Deanna Lynn Duncan (Jeff) and son Donald Eugene Zornes; 10 grandchildren Jeremy, Joseph and Daryl Redman, Danyel, Leeah and Nicole Zornes (Webster), Justin, Tristan and Destiny Zornes and Abbey Duncan with 11 great grandchildren.
We hope to share time in the not so distant future for a joint burial of both Gene and Jeri, whose ashes will lie together at Floral Hills Cemetery in Taylor Mill, Kentucky. In these strange times we hope our family and friends remain safe and healthy, and we look forward to the time we celebrate their lives.
