Cornelia “Connie” Viola Smith née Needels passed away peacefully at Hospice of Cincinnati in Anderson Township on February 4, 2020 at the age of 91.
Connie was the seventh of ten children born to the late William Joseph Needels and Lucy Emoline Cornn on March 24, 1928 near Williamsburg. She grew up off of Eight Mile Road in Anderson Township and married the late Alvin Edward Smith Junior on June 29, 1946. Always young at heart, Connie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was known for her wit, sense of humor and her ability to see the world in a unique way. In her later years, she continued to live independently and loved watching movies on Netflix and keeping up with her family on Facebook.
Connie is survived by her children Sandra Hatfield (David) of New Richmond, Teresa Stahl of Goshen, Alvina Sue Steeley (David) of Batavia, and Alvin “Chip” Smith (Linda) of Mariemont. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her nine siblings and by a special son-in-law Donald Stahl of Goshen.
