Joe Gerwe, 75, of Newport, passed away March 3, 2018. Early in his career, Joe worked for Catholic Charities using his Master’s degree in Social Work. He and his brother, Gary, went into the family business and ran Bromwell’s Fireplace Store for many years. Joe is survived by his loving wife and companion of 44 years, Mary Jo Gerwe nee Wellmeier; his children, Michael Gerwe (Elizabeth Carlson), Luke Gerwe (Elizabeth Webster), Toni Hartlaub and Kelly Napier (Denny Napier); his six grandchildren and a host of caring relatives and friends. Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm at The Sanctuary Event Center (at the corner of 6th St. and Monroe St. in Newport, KY). Fares J. Radel Funeral Home serving the family.

I will always be deeply appreciative of what I learned from him and for his kindness. I also remember fondly his expression of love for you.
