James A. Malicek, 61 of Newport passed away February 22 at St. Elizabeth, Edgewood. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Frank J. and Mary C. Malicek, Sr, and brothers Frank J, Jr and John W. Malicek. He is survived by his daughter Candi Legner, brother Les Malicek, sisters Mary Ann (Don) Walz, Jeannie (Joe) Portwood and Teresa Malicek, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and his very good friend Gary Ray. Jimmy worked for the Woodlawn, KY Fire department and the Cincinnati Police Citizens on Patrol Department. Visitation will be held Tues, Feb 27 from 4pm until time of service at 8pm at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be at the privacy of the family.

He was a great friend to everyone he came in contact with and always so positive!! He will truly be missed!! I was Jimmy’s driver when he rode with LKLP to dialysis!! He always made the bad days brighter!! RIP Jimmy my buddy
