SPILMAN
William “Babe” Spilman passed away June 29, 2017 at the age of 89. He is survived by his 3 children, Jeff (Kayla) Spilman, Lynn (Dr. Robert) Ossoff, and Cindy (Larry) Fahlbush; 8 grandchildren, Leslin Ossoff, Jake Ossoff, Justin Fahlbush, Jamie Fahlbush, Scot Fahlbush, Jason Fahlbush, Shane Spilman, and Jackson Spilman; 8 great-grandchildren; life partner, Grace Tremper and former wife and mother of Jeff, Lynn and Cindy, Patricia Spilman. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice Spilman, brothers, Lawrence and James C. Spilman and sister, Almira Hieronymus. “Babe” as he was known to his family and close friends, was born in California, KY and a Korean War Naval Veteran. He owned 2 businesses in his life and was a Regional Manager for Nationwide Insurance. He operated Spilman Insurance and Real Estate for many years in Ft. Thomas, KY. He was a real estate developer, builder, investor and broker in Northern Kentucky and Lake Havasu City, AZ. He loved living in the desert and being a private pilot. He amazed us all by rebuilding a Cessna Cardinal airplane, from used parts… and it flew safely! We all will miss his vitality and enthusiasm for life. Memorial Contributions may be made in Babe’s memory to The Wounded Warrior Project. Graveside service will take place Sat. July 8 at Grandview Cemetery, 3790 Smith Rd. Mentor, KY 41007, 11:00 am.
