Arick James Gittner tragically and suddenly passed away at the age of 38 from a rare disease, Hereditary Angioedema. Arick was the much beloved son of Rae Lynn Chance, Alan ”Bud” Gittner, stepson of Margaret Grissom-Gittner, Teresa Kraft and Brian Chance. He was the brother and best friend of Tyler Gittner, stepsister Holly Anderson, stepbrothers Anderson Grissom, Marshall Grissom, Lee Roberson, Lee Chance and Kyle Chance. He was the soul brother, “Hound Dog” of Doug Lillibridge and his NA mentors.
Arick’s best friend in the world is Christina Niekamp, the love of his life, her daughter Zoe, and his shining bright stars, daughter Alexis,7 and son Avery,6. He lived and worked each day for them. Arick was touched by and touched many people with his tender heart for all creatures great and small. 4-legged and 2-legged including his chickens, a ferret, and even pesky field mice that were gently caught and released. If you were having addiction issues, problems, were sad, he was your friend, because he had been there and back and he knew the struggle and pain. In spite of protests by Christina, Arick often brought homeless people back to his house for a bath, shave and a meal—who does that? He lived his life on his terms grabbing each and every adventure, squealing for joy, laughing his laugh and with a giant smile would say—“wow!” that was so cool, let`s do it again”. He had a deep and abiding faith in God and was always ready to share that with you—whether you were ready to hear it or not. He loved the outdoors and all of nature, was an ace fisherman, preached organic, but loved biscuits and gravy, chicken, steak and just about anything. Too busy and occupied to steer straight—the roads and other drivers are probably safer now. This shooting star, creature of God has landed in heaven into the loving arms of God, his grandparents Bud and Glenda Gittner, Robert and Rhea Weil, and friends who got there 1st.
A celebration of Arick`s life will take place January 14th from 12-4PM at 2904 River Cliff Rd., Prospect Point Clubhouse in Villa Hills, Kentucky 41017.
