Charles A. 79, of Cincinnati, OH passed away on December 16, 2016 at Hospice of Cincinnati. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Soucek of Santa Fe, New Mexico and his son, Charles F. (Christy) Soucek of Cincinnati, Ohio. He will be dearly missed by his 5 grandchildren; Kai Silva, Cody Silva, Gabriella Soucek, Jewel Soucek and Emma Soucek. In honor of Charles please make Memorial Donations to the Child Life Fund @ Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Dad was a graduate of Bendictine High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He went on the receive his B.S. and M.S. from John Carroll University. Dad also pursued his Phd in chemistry at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Dad retired as a senior chemist after a 40 year career in the chemical research field. He remained a proud member of the American Chemical Society even after his retirement.
Dad was a wonderful, supportive father and grandfather. He so enjoyed Christmas time with his grandchildren, giving them such thoughtful and special gifts.
Among other things, Dad was an avid reader, history lover, accordion player in a band, golfer, amateur baseball historian, lifetime member of Ceska Sin Karlin, gardener, beer brewer (limited success), grill master, dumpling maker and chef.
Dad enjoyed vacations to the beach with his family, especially the Outer Banks, North Carolina, Ocean Isle, North Carolina and Stinson Beach, California.
Charles A. Soucek was a powerful force in his children and grandchildren’s lives. While he was with us he made everything better. His family is grateful for his presence and his legacy will continue for generations.
