Betty Jean Bringmann Conners, age 89, of Southgate, Kentucky died Wednesday, August 24, at Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas. She was well traveled and lived in Hawaii before it was a state and in Turkey and England. She also visited Spain, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Germany and many other countries. One of her favorite trips was to Alaska with her brother, Calvin Bringmann, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister Nancy Huesing. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Spivey (Paul) of Fayetteville, Ga. and Deborah Wiethorn (John) of Lutz, Fl. six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She retired from McAlpins in 1992 after 25 years in the accounting office. After retirement she volunteered at the St. Luke East Gift Shop and with Preferred Senior Care. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Newport and participated in the SWANAs and Southgate Super Seniors. She enjoyed bowling with Walt’s Bowling Leagues.
Her family will receive friends at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Newport, Ky. on Monday, August 29 at 10 am with the funeral service at 11 am. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
