Robert Lee Harlow, born on January 14, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio, died in his
home in Cold Spring Kentucky on Monday, May 30, 2016. Raised on Willow Creek in
Indiana, Bob was especially fond of nature. He grew up with two brothers –
George (of Vevay, IN) and Paul (of Indianapolis but now deceased) – and two
sisters – Shirley Tingle (of Vevay, IN) and Mary Jane Kincaid (of Rising Sun,
IN). Bob was a loving husband and father. He was a hard worker and never a
quitter. He always loved to work in the garden and was thrilled to learn of the
Bible’s promise that, in the future, the earth will be made into a paradise. As
one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for the last 35 years, he looked forward to sharing
in the work of restoring the earth to perfect conditions.
He has left behind his much loved wife of nearly 10 years: Carol Harlow and
her daughters Terri Vert, Annie Barlow, and Amy Middleton, and their families.
He is predeceased by his previous wife Lauretta. They had two children together:
Jerry Glaine Harlow (wife Kitty, now deceased) and Karis Lynn Goldstone (husband
Doug). Jerry has two children: Desirae Villarreal and Zachary Pence. So Bob left
behind these two grandchildren but also two great grandchildren: Destiny Pence
and Hannah Pence. Also left behind are Mary Jane’s husband Charles “Kook”
Kincaid and many nieces and nephews.
He was known for his kindness to those in need and his hardworking spirit. He
wanted to be known as someone who “died with his boots on”. He will be greatly
missed by all. We look forward to seeing him healthy and active in the
resurrection.
