Alice Lee (Sprong), 79 died November 18, 2015 at the Baptist Convalescent Center. Born March 26, 1936 to Russell and Anna (Matz) Sprong, Alice graduated from Newport High School and Northern Kentucky University. She began her working life as a nurse but retired from Proctor and Gamble after a long fulfilling career. Alice’s curiosity and love of learning continued throughout her life. She read insatiably about many subjects, especially the Civil War, and she thoroughly enjoyed talking to family and friends about everything she learned. For many years she also taught Sunday School and freely shared her faith, immense knowledge and compassion for all. Alice also enjoyed car trips with her husband, especially through the Smokey Mountains. Alice was preceded in passing by her husband of 55 years, Charles. She is survived by her five children; Mark, Debbie, Amy, Laurie and Rich; their spouses, Kim, Vince, Kevin and Dan, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her brother Don and his wife Phyllis, her sister in-law Joyce and their families. At her request, no service will be held and her body is to be cremated. The family requests memorial gifts to be made the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
